Frequently asked questions

How do I get a YouTube transcript?

Open the video on YouTube, expand the description, and click Show transcript. Select the text and copy it. On a phone, if you do not see the button, open YouTube in your browser and choose Desktop site.

Can I paste a YouTube link instead?

Not yet. For now, Quick AI Notes works with a pasted transcript. Link support is planned.

Is Quick AI Notes free?

It is free to use right now. This may change in the future.

What is the difference between Summary, Key points, and Study notes?

A summary is the short version. Key points are the main ideas, useful for revising and testing yourself. Study notes are fuller notes you can read and revise from.

Are the notes always accurate?

No. Auto-generated transcripts can have mistakes, and AI can miss or change details. Check numbers, names, and formulas against the video.

What if the video has no transcript?

Then there is nothing to copy. The creator may have turned captions off. Try another video on the same topic.

How do I summarize a YouTube video?

Copy the video's transcript, paste it into Quick AI Notes, click Generate Notes, and open the Summary tab. For the details, open Key points or Study notes.

Can I make short notes from a YouTube lecture?

Yes. Use the Key points tab for short notes, or the Study notes tab for fuller notes.

Can I use the notes for active recall?

Yes. Close the video and your notes, write what you remember, then compare it with the key points. Our active recall guide shows the full method.

Can I save or download my notes?

Yes. Use the Download button to save your notes as a file.
